Gaming News: Call Of Duty Giving Back To US Serving Forces

Well to me this is a very good game giving back to a very good cause. With records being broken again, with Treyarch’s Call Of Duty Black Ops II reaching $1 billion in record time last fall. Activision is giving back to the people who serve as apart of the US Army, Navy and Air Force who really do fight for freedom.

In addition to raising money to the Call Of Duty Forundation which helps Military Services around the world, it is also equipping multiple bases and hospitals including the Royal Air Foce Laken-Heath in the United Kingdom and USO Warrior Center at Landstuhl with free copies of the game as part of the USO/Armed Forces Entertainment Tour. The Tour will not only give out free copies of the game but also will feature three actors of the game.

These Actors are Kamar De Los Reyes, who plays the three dimensional bad guy Raul Menendez in the game, he will be joined by fellow actors of the game James Burns, who provided performance capture for SGT. Frank Woods in both Black Ops Games and also Rich McDonald who brought Commander David Mason to virtual life. The three actors will play the game against troops at each the tour stop from January 28th through Febuary 4th.

De Los Reyes said, “We play at war on the safety of our sound stages, with imaginary weapons and pretend enemies. These men and women face the real thing every day, we want to honor that fact and give the real heroes the attention the deserve.” De Los Reyes is back from his third USO tour, he also added that Ï’ve always been humbled by the sacrifice our military and there families make every day to ensure our freedoms. I can’t wait to look at those men andd women in the eye and express to them in person how much we appreciate their service. It’s an honor that leaves me speeechless.”

This generocity comes with the success of the Call Of Duty game franchises that has helped raise awarness, and money, for active duty and retired soldiers.

James Burns, who breathes life in to the character Woods, who is a fan faveroute said. “What I love about Call Of Duty is how they highlight not only the heroic nature of our service men and women but also the stoicism and maturity,” said Burns. He then also added, “One of the privelages of being Woods is the access I’ve been granted to our service men and women. I am constantly impressed by these young men and women. They are highly trained, exactingly competent but yet….. conduuct themselves with humanity and confidence. I think the COD characters reflect these qualities. The highest standards of character, loyalty and professionalism…. Oh year, not to forget the, first and foremost…these are fierce and formidable warriors. The game shows them as they are true American badasses”.

In my opinion this is amazing what they are doing for troops overseas they are showing not only how loyal they arre to their fans but also to the people who really protect us from the dangers out there, Treyarch and the soldiers who they support deserve nothing but the upmost respect.
