Obsidian, the developer behind Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic II, have came out and announced that they have a pitch to make a new Star Wars RPG that they seem very enthusiastic about.
The New Hope to the Star Wars RPG side of the Star Wars Games, comes from an interview with rockpapershotgun.com. The team apparently had a pith ready for LucasArts before the company started exchanging ideas. Obsidians CEO Feargus Urquhart said, “We
pitched a between Episode III and Episode IV game to LucasArts. All because we think that the timeframe is super interesting. It’s the fall of the republic, the extermination of the Jedi, it’s Obi Wan going off and making sure Luke is ok. You have the Sith, but you have the extermination of all force users except for very, very few. So it was an interesting time to set a game, and you know, Chris Avellone came up with a really cool story.”
Urquhart says its one of the best pitches Obsidian has ever made in the history of the company. Urquhart also seems to believe LucasArts new deal with Disney won’t get in the way of the final product that is sure to be the best thing thats happened to the star wars franchise for quite a while. That being said LucasArts are already on board with the project, but the pitch has yet to be shown to Disney.
